Tele-Apotessar T* 350mm f/4.0 The 350mm lens is an autofocus telephoto lens with a similar focal length of 210 mm on a 35 mm Contax SLR. This optical system was designed using state-of-the-art technology, incorporating internal focusing and the most recent optical glass types. Photographers no longer need to worry about the halo effect that some lenses create around a subject, because these chromatic aberrations are reduced to zero by the incorporation of two ultra-low dispersion lens elements. The Tele-Apotessar T* 350mm lens delivers outstanding performance in telephoto shots of extreme high quality with perfect corner-to-corner uniformity even at wide open aperture. This new lens was crafted to offer the photographer a wide array of shooting variations. The lens was designed with a minimum focus distance of 5.8 feet, along with a magnification of 1:3.98, virtually placing it into the macro range. Adding to the advanced optical design of the Tele-Apotessar, Carl Zeiss managed to integrate Auto Focus capability. The lens also comes with a detachable tripod collar. When the Mutar 1.4x teleconverter is used in conjunction with the 350mm f/4.0, the resulting lens is a 490mm f/5.6. Such a combination is eminently useful for many applications including wildlife and sports photography, as the resulting focal length allows the photographer to isolate a subject from a great distance.
